Russian Gazprom and Austrian OMV to start joint operation in Iran

Gazprom Neft, a Russia’s fourth largest oil producer and a subsidiary of Gazprom, is likely to start joint operation in Iran, as it follows from a report issued by the company.




The corresponding agreement was signed within the framework of 2017 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia.

“The agreement establishes an interest on the part of Gazprom Neft and OMV in conducting a joint operation in the territory of the Republic of Iran. The area of potential cooperation includes a preliminary analysis, assessment and study of oil fields located in the territory of Iran, as well as in the interaction with National Iranian Oil Company,” the message reads.
