Hermes and EKN, export agencies based in Germany and Sweden, will finance a project of Yamal LNG plant in Russia in the amount of about 300 million euro, the head of the project’s main shareholder, Novatek’s CEO, Leonid Mikhelson, told reporters on Monday.
Mr. Mikhelson specified that by that amount Chinese financing of the project would be reduced.
“German Hermes and Swedish EKN have expressed their desire to join financing… The final amount is being currently calculated depending on the placed orders. Some 300 million euro will account for Sweden and Germany,” Leonid Mikhelson noted.
He added that external financing in amount to $19 billion has already been undertaken.
