Enel has put Aurora solar power plant into a commercial operation through its subsidiary Enel Green Power North America.
A total installed capacity of the facility amounts to 150 MW, as it follows from a statement.
The facility is located in Minnesota and is the largest solar power plant of Enel company in North America.
Aurora solar park consists of 16 solar energy generation facilities. Aurora can produce about 210 million KWh per year, what is equivalent to the needs of more than 17,000 local households, avoiding the emission of over 150,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
Enel invested about $290 million in the construction of Aurora. The produced electricity will be sold within the framework of a long-term contract concluded with Xcel Energy in Minnesota.
