The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous region, Magadan region and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous region top a ranking of housing affordability in the regions of the Russian Federation as of 2017, according to RIA Rating.
The study states that, in these regions, a family with one child can save up for a standard two-bedroom apartment for a little less than two years.
Also, the cities of Murmansk, Irkutsk and Chelyabinsk, as well as the Sakhalin region, Kamchatka and the Krasnoyarsk region are in the top ten regions with affordable housing markets.
There, an average family needs to save up 42,000 rubles each month in the period from 2.8 to 4.1 years. The thing is that in the Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Chelyabinsk regions, the price for an apartment exceeds 2,2 million rubles.
