Marubeni consortium to build $365m power plant in Indonesia

Marubeni consortium, General Electric (GE) and PT. Hutama Karya (HK) won a contract from PT Indonesia Power (Persero) for the construction of power plant block 3 project in Central Java, Indonesia. The cost of the contract is totals $365m. The caculated capacity of the gas fired combined cycle power plant is 780MW.




The consortium partners will be responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the power plant, which is planned to come into operation in 2020.

Marubeni will supply a heat recovery steam generator and install all equipment in the site.

Additionally, GE will provide the main equipment such as a gas turbine, steam turbine, and generator while the civil construction work will be handled by HK.

Marubeni said that this is the first large-scale combined cycle power plant project for Marubeni in collaboration with GE.
