In 2017, the volume of foreign investment in Spanish real property grew by 0.7% compared to the previous year, amounting to €31.1 billion.
This is 25.6% higher than the average volume of investments over the past five years and is the largest since 2008.
According to the Economy Ministry of Spain, the volume of net investment decreased by 12.3% - down to €24.5 billion. The real estate sector accounts for 13.2% or €3.1 billion of the total investments. The second most attractive sector to investments is energy accounting for 10.3% or € 2.4 billion, reports Noticia.ru.
The most active investors in 2017 were residents of Luxembourg who invested in the Spanish economy about €5 billion (21% of the total volume of investments). The list of leaders also includes Germany and the UK (€3 billion each).
