Gazprom and Saudi Aramco will set up a joint coordinating committee, Rambler News reports on Thursday citing a message released by the Russian company.
The statement was made following a meeting between Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller, on the one part, and Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih and CEO of Saudi Aramco Amin Nasser, on the other part.
Within the framework of the negotiations, a supplement to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Russian gas holding and Saudi Aramco was signed. The document stipulates expanding the possible areas of partnership between the companies.
“According to the document, the parties will create a joint coordinating committee to implement the memorandum,” a report released by Gazprom says. The parties also positively assessed prospects for their joint activities in the gas sector.
As a reference, Saudi Aramco is a state company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia specializing in the exploration, production, processing, distribution, and transportation of hydrocarbons.
