Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, has expressed confidence that Nord Stream 2 project will not be realized, the Ukrainian newspaper Gordon reports.
“I believe that Nord Stream 2 will not have a significant impact on the Ukrainian economy. Because it will not exist. I am sure that by joint efforts we will be able to stop it because this is an absolutely politician project that is directed against Ukraine, has no economic component and that is trying to take almost $3 billion from Ukraine”, Poroshenko said.
According to Ukrainian President, this amount of money is currently spent on the entire defense sector of Ukraine.
“You understand why it is being built. Not to economically diversify but rather to leave Ukraine without money to finance the defense”, he stressed.
