One construction worker was killed and over a dozen were injured on Tuesday as a result of an explosion at a site of the under-construction extension to a hospital building in Texas, AP reports.
According to local authorities, all the victims were the builders who were working on the site. None of the hospital staff and patients were harmed.
The incident was reported around 14:30. The 25-bed hospital is situated in Gatesville, 58 kilometers west of Waco. As eyewitnesses said, an electric generator exploded on the construction site, inside an unfinished addition to the hospital. According to another version, it was a gas pipeline that exploded first.
