Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia, Alan Lushnikov, commented on the proposal of Chechnya's leader Ramzan Kadyrov regarding the high-speed railway Krasnodar-Grozny.

According to the official, the department believes that there are prospects for the development of high-speed rail communication in the North Caucasus.

“If you look at the macroregion —Makhachkala, Grozny, Stavropol, Rostov-on-Don — it's a very densely populated area, very dynamically developing. Therefore, building a high-speed highway there in the future can have a very serious multiplier effect”, Alan Lushnikov told reporters.

We should remind you that earlier, the media reported that the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov sent a letter to President Vladimir Putin with an initiative to include a project for a high-speed railroad from Krasnodar to Grozny in the strategy of Russia’s spatial development until 2025.
