Expert Alexey Grivach has commended on a statement made by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who said before the European Parliament that the EU did not need a Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.

According to Deputy Director General of Russia’s National Energy Security Fund, Alexey Grivach, quoted by RIA Novosti news agency, this point of view expressed by the Polish establishment, which they reiterate almost on a daily basis, does not correlate with interests of other EU countries in terms of their energy security and economic development.

“So if Poland is willing to overpay, at least in words, for energy supplies, while receiving significant subsidies from the EU, it is unacceptable for the European Union in general, especially for donor countries such as Germany or France, because it undermines their economic development and harms their consumers, their citizens”, Mr Grivach explained.
