Severnaya Zvezda distribution center, which is a logistics facility of Leroy Merlin Vostok in Russia, will be built in the village of Znamenye in the Moscow region.
The construction of the facility, which will be located on a land plot of 30.9 hectares, is to be launched on September 6, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Innovations of the Moscow region said.
“The complex will be the largest logistics facility of LLC Leroy Merlin Vostok in Russia and, jointly with a logistics center at the Yuzhnye Vrata park will carry out distribution to all stores in the country's territory”, says Deputy Chairman of the Moscow regional government, Denis Butsaev.
He has noted that the amount of investment in the project will be 10 billion rubles ($148 million). When the facility is put in operation in autumn 2019, one thousand jobs are expected to be created. The logistics complex is scheduled to start operation in the first quarter of 2020.
As a reference, Leroy Merlin manages a network of stores selling products for construction, finishing, and improvement of a house, cottage, and garden. The company was founded in 1923 in the north of France and is currently the largest DIY retailer (Do It Yourself) in Europe.
