In the third quarter of 2015, in Vichuga (in the Ivanovo region) construction will begin on a plant to produce strong polyethylene terephthalate for textile use.
In an interview published today by Sputnik News, Pavel Konkov, the governor of the region, said that work on the construction site, with a complete production cycle, will cost 17.7 billion rubles. The factory will be launched at the end of 2017. This is the main investment project in the region. The volume of thermoplastic production will be 200 thousand tons per year, of which 170 thousand will be polyester staple fiber and 30 thousand PET granulate for textile use.
Thermoplastic granulate textile industry. According to various estimates, the annual revenue of the company from 2018 will exceed 16 billion rubles before VAT, thus part of the production will be exported. This is a "classic project in the field of import substitution," said Konkov.
