After the third stage of updating all of the tourists’ favorite southern coastline is provided with 3G mobile telecommunication.
Deputy Minister for Communications and the Media of the RF Dmitry Alkhazov told journalists about it in Alushta. The only Crimean mobile operator “K-telecom” is busy with updating the network. It has worked for some days already and it will develop all over Crimea. “K-telecom” Director General Vladimir Zaitsev stressed that 157 basic stations are up-dated according to 3G-standards, and LTE - 27.
Since the beginning of August about 50,000 new users register daily in the network. Since the beginning of April the number of guest users has surpassed 2.65 m. The third stage of updating covered the towns and settlements from Feodosiya to Foros. The fourth stage will include putting 3G and LTE communication in operation in Simferopol and expanding the coverage in Sevastopol.
Updating will fully complete by the end of 2016. By that time all the peninsula will be covered by the 3G communication network and elements of G4. To remind you, formerly 3G and LTE were available in Sevastopol and Kerch. These services became unavailable when Ukrainian operators left Crimea after its annexation by Russia.
