The Deputy Minister of Construction and Utilities of the RF and Chief Housing Inspector of the RF, Andrei Chibis, has been elected a member of the Bureau of the Committee on Housing and Land Management of the UN Economic Commission for Europe.




As the Ministry’s press office told Construction.ru, he was proposed as a nominee by Slovakia and supported by other delegates at the 76th session of the Committee in Geneva on December 16th.

Andrei Chibis appreciated the election results as an acknowledgement of Russia’s achievements by the world community. Russia now has the opportunity both to influence decisions taken in the course of the UN’s EEC activity and to actively promote Russia’s standpoint.

To remind you, the main aim of the bureau is to elaborate the agenda of the Committee. 14 countries form the membership of the bureau, of 56 participants, of the Committee. They gather once a quarter for their meetings. The first sitting of the newly elected body will take place at the beginning of 2016.
