The police has arrested this morning a group of people who took part in an unauthorized rally against the notorious Moscow renovation program, near the building of State Duma, a Russian Parliament.
Among the detained protesters, there is Chairman of the Moscow branch of Yabloko, a Russian opposition party, Sergei Mitrokhin, another member of the party, Anton Antonov-Ovseenko, and a girl.
On June 9, residents of Moscow have taken to the streets with a spontaneous protest rally against the large-scale renovation program initiated by the Moscow city authorities. The activists chanted slogans “This is our city” and “Hands off Moscow.”
Today, the Russian Parliament will consider in the second reading a bill on the renovation involving mass resettlement of Moscow residents.
