The delivery of Siemens gas turbines to Crimea, against sanctions, seriousle damaged Russian-German business relations, Matthias Schepp, Chair of Board of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce, thinks. He said, in particular, that “the main principle of the German business is to carefully adhere to the achieved agreements and fulfill the conditions of the treaties. German companies follow this rule in Russia as well: partners should trust each other, otherwise investments are questionable. Trust relationship between the German and the Russian partners has been seriously damaged”, Mr Schepp explained.
Nevertheless the Head of the Chamber hopes, the way out of the situation will be found.
“The Russian-German business relationship has a solid foundation, and we hope the way out of the current situation will be found, he stressed.
He also added that there were no precedents of violating the sanctions by German companies.
