The German company Siemens AG has established a special team that will check the reported shipments of gas turbines to the Crimea bypassing sanctions.
The company also promised that it would do everything possible to prevent the use of its equipment on the Peninsula. We should remind you that on June 18, the Foreign Ministers of the EU member states extended the sanctions imposed against the Crimea. Restrictions will be in effect until June 23, 2018.
The package of measures of the European Union includes several items, in particular the ban on export of energy technologies to the Peninsula.
As a reference, Siemens got into a spotlight on Wednesday, when Reuters reported that Russia had delivered in the Crimea turbines made by the German company to install them at regional power plants.
