Specialists from Tokyo are developing a project for the construction of a big rubbish recycling plant in Moscow.
As TASS reported, the parties reached a cooperation agreement over the course of last year’s visit of Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin to Japan’s capital.
After that, Japanese experts visited Moscow to learn how rubbish is recycled in the capital. Thus, according to the Japanese estimates, 5.9 mln tons of household garbage is gathered yearly in Moscow, and only 800,000 tons of it is incinerated, while in the Japanese capital, all of the garbage is recycled. At present the specialists from Japan are offering to build a plant for garbage incineration and recycling in 2017-2019. In 2020, it should start operating at full capacity.
