On 21st and 22nd of March, FSB operatives conducted a pre-investigation check at the construction sites of the Saint Petersburg metro.

In particular, the FSB operatives inspected the construction sites at Kazakov Street and Turistskaya Street, where Metrostroi is erecting the lobby hall for the “Yugo-Zapadnaya” metro station and is working on a tunnel for the “Begovaya” station.

As it has become known, the work on the “Yugo-Zapadnaya” metro station was signed off on and was paid for to the tune of 275.7 mln as early as December 2015. In fact, the work is unfinished and has cost 80m roubles. At the “Begovaya” metro station, the work so far carried out is estimated at 40m roubles (out of a total 253.8m).

However, according to the documentation, this contract has been fully completed and paid. As local observers predict, the investigation might lead to the head of the Committee for Transport Infrastructure Development of Saint Petersburg, Sergey Kharlashkin.
