The Committee for Government Contracts of Saint Petersburg has announced a tender to complete the construction of a road tunnel at the Sinopskaya Embankment, between the Obvodny Canal and the Khersonsky Thoroughfare. The project is estimated at 1.1 bln roubles.
As Construction.ru was told by the city’s press office, this construction has a complicated backstory. At first, the Moscow “Kosmos” enterprise won the tender to build it for 1.5 bln roubles in 2012.
But when the work started, the enterprise went behind the schedule and soon stopped. As a result, the contract with the enterprise was terminated. After that, the Moscow “Mosstroy-6” company embarked upon completion of this crucial underground object.
However, in 2015 financial problems occurred and the enterprise terminated work at the construction site as well. Now the authorities have undertaken the search for a brave new contractor and the idea of a foreign counterpart isn’t being ruled out.
