The construction of the Almaty Big Automobile Ring Road in the first and largest city in Kazakhstan, Almaty, will start as early as 2017.
This is what the Mayor of Almaty, Bauyrzhan Baibek, told reporters at a press conference held on the 22nd of April in the city. According to him, it will be a modern toll motorway with a length of 66 km with 8 road junctions.
After the work at the construction sites is completed, automobiles will be able to move along the road at a speed of 150 km per hour. The implementation of this project will also allow for the removal of all transfer streams below the city, which will without doubt improve the environment conditions in the city.
The Big Almaty Automobile Ring Road will pass through the territories of the Karasaysky, Ilyisky and Talgar districts of the Almaty region.
