Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, signed a decree on construction of Tatarstan’s nuclear power station with a capacity of 1250 MW, which is to be located in Kamskye Polyany.




The facility is scheduled to be completed by year 2030.

According to the area planning scheme of the Russian Federation in the field of energy, approved by the decree of Head of the Government, a powerful Tatarstan’s NPP-5 will increase energy potential of the Republic.

A total number of 8 nuclear power plants are scheduled to be put into operation in Russia.

The project also includes the construction of three thermal power plants. By 2017, one of them will be erected in the Yelabuzhskiy region with an installed capacity of 230 MW.
