New largest terminal starts its operation in an airport of the Russian city of Volgograd, which is an important industrial city of the Volgograd region located in the Southern Federal District.
At present, the terminal provides service to domestic flights, but in autumn it will start to accommodate international flights as well, TASS news agency reports on Wednesday.
Thus, the new airport’s terminal will be capable to accept up to 300 passengers per hour, what is three times more than the old international terminal did and two time more than the internal terminal does.
Construction of the international terminal of the airport started in spring 2014, since May it has been operating in a test mode.
