The Government of Portugal made a decision to significantly increase real estate tax, in case the property is located in a region with a picturesque view from the window, The Portugal News.
For example, if an apartment is located in the southern part of the house, the real estate tax might grow by 20%. On the other hand, houses with view of a cemetery, apartments located in the north or on the lower floors of the house might become the reason to cut taxes up to 10%.
‘Noisy” districts will also be taken into account. However, the novelty will attach only new buildings and real property, which undergoes reappraisal procedure.
