The Krasnogvardeysk district of the Orenburg region, which is located in the southeastern part of European Russia, has been chosen as a site of the solar power plant construction.

The project is implemented by Hevel LLC, a joint venture of the Renova Group and OJSC Rusnano founded in 2009.

As a director general of “Solar Energy+” LLC undertaking the construction, Andrey Yalbakov, told Krasnogvardeets newspaper, the project envisages building of a solar power plant with a capacity of 10 MW on the territory of 28 hectares. This will be enough to provide stable electricity supplies to at least 2,000 households. According to him, the SPP is scheduled to be put into operation in November this year.

Andrey Yalbakov reminded that alternative sources of energy are one of the most promising directions of the electricity industry’s development.

“Despite the fact that there are huge reserves of conventional fuel in Russia, we must make efficient use of all natural resources, build environmentally safe power plants, prompting introduction of new technologies,” said Mr Yalbakov.
