The second power unit of Kudankulam nuclear power plant built by Rosatom Energy State Corporation in India has been connected to the grid.
According to the local media, an official ceremony took place approximately at 11:30 local time (09:30 Moscow time). A construction site of the nuclear power plant is located in the south of the country.
We should remind you that a general agreement on construction of №3 and №4 power units of Kudankulam NPP was signed by the Indian and Russian parties in April 2014.
Early in August Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in a ceremony of the transfer of the Kudankulam NPP’s first power unit to India.
A total number of 12 power units are scheduled to be built in this country upon the Russian projects. This will allow to cover a deficit of energy capacities in India.
