Hilton hotel operator plans to open 1,800 hotels on the territory of Russia over the course of 5 years, Jim Holthouser, Executive Vice President & Global Brands at Hilton Worldwide told Interfax on Tuesday.
“At present, there are 4,700 hotels all over the world and we plan to open 1,800 more,” he said.
Speaking about location of the projected hotels, Jim Holthouser noted that the operator is interested in growing markets in the USA, Europe, China, India and Brazil.
“Of course, Russia is one of our priorities. There are greater opportunities for domestic tourism and we pay more attention to brand recognition,” he added.
According to Jim Holthouser, the last two years became the most successful for Hilton in Russia.
