Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, wants to established “territories of success” in the Russian Federation. The task is to convert Russia’s monotowns from depressed industrial zones into the territories of new opportunities and success.
This is what Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev, said on Friday at a plenary meeting of the International Investment Forum in Sochi. According to him, by the end of 2018, over 200,000 new jobs are planned to be created in monotowns outside the backbone enterprises.
The tenth part of the country lives there, that is approximately 15 million people, and they should have normal and happy life. For this purpose, the measures, which have already proved their effectiveness, and new forms of support will be applied.
The next year, 6,5 bln roubles will be allotted to create infrastructure necessary for business activity in monotowns.
