Airbus Helicopters, the European helicopter developer, will establish assembly of H215 helicopters in Romania at a more affordable price to attain a more effective competition with the Russian models in the segment of transport helicopters.

This is what the head of the company Guillaume Faury said in an interview with Les Eshos.

“In Romania, we want to produce an option of Super Puma – H215 model – at a more affordable price, in order to resist Russian competition in the segment of multi-purpose transport helicopters,” Guillaume Faury said.

Airbus Helicopters, a subsidiary of Airbus Group, has started to build a plant for the manufacture of H215 medium helicopters in the Romanian city of Brasov in 2015.

It is assumed that the first 15 vehicles will be released over the course of 2017. A helicopter with a capacity of 22 passengers can be exploited to transport a fully equipped task force, as well as to evacuate victims from disaster areas, search and rescue operations.
