The Energy Ministry of Russia will consider the possibility of extending support measures for renewable energy after 2024, the head of the department, Alexander Novak, told reporters on Friday.
“One of the citizens proposed to take additional measures for the development of renewable energy sources in our country. We have a program until 2024 to stimulate the construction of wind and solar generation facilities. The applicant has proposed to extend the program for a longer period. We will take a closer look at his appeal with the market actors – the Market Council, consumers, investors. In my opinion, this is a reasonable proposal, it requires detailed consideration and detailed study,” Alexander Novak said.
The Energy Ministry believes that it is possible to use the mechanisms of support for renewable energy sources not related to the wholesale market of electricity and power.
