Austrian OMV can take part in Gazprom’s project for construction of a gas pipeline across the Black Sea to Europe, the Austrian newspaper Der Standard reports on Tuesday, citing its own sources.

According to Der Standard, OMV involvement in the project was discussed at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Federal Chancellor of Austria Christian Kern.

As explained by the newspaper, the matter concerns the cooperation in the field of realization of a project for construction of Turkish Stream gas pipeline. The Austrian company is interested in transporting gas from Turkish Stream in Austria. However, it is noted that representatives from OMV and Gazprom did not provide comments on the relevant topic.
