The Industry and Commerce Ministry of Russia has not yet received an official offer from Volkswagen Group regarding the establishment of a full-cycle manufacture of Audi cars in Russia, but the body is willing to consider such a proposal.
This statement was made by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, at a ground-breaking ceremony at a construction site of Daimler’s plant Daimler designed to produce Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The event was held on Tuesday in Yesipovo industrial park located in the Moscow region, Russia.
“We have not seen a formal proposal so far, but we are willing to consider it,” he said.
“We are considering various options of Audi production. When we have a concept of the production, I hope to get the same conditions from the government that are provided by Daimler,” the general director of Volkswagen Group Rus, Marcus Osegowitsch, said earlier in an interview with Vedomosti newspaper.
