Gazprom, a Russian gas giant, and the Azerbaijani company Socar have held negotiations on the issue of the supplies of Russian gas to Azerbaijan, as it follows from a statement released by the Russian holding following a meeting between Alexey Miller, the head of Gazprom, and Rovnag Abdullayev, the president of Socar.
“The meeting participants discussed issues of cooperation. In particular, the matter concerned the supplies of natural gas to Azerbaijan,” Gazprom notes.
As it was reported earlier, Socar and Gazprom are holding negotiations on an increase of Russian gas supplies to Azerbaijan in the amount of 3-5 billion cubic meters per year.
In summer 2016, the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, announced that Socar was showing interest in an increase of gas purchases from Gazprom.
