The number of import-dependent components in construction has been reduced to 20 percent since the crisis of 2014, the president of Gals-Development Sergei Kalinin said on Friday at the Moscow Urban Forum.
“Before the crisis of year 2014, the ratio of import-dependent materials and those not depended on import was 70 to 30, in fact we bought concrete, sand, rebar in Russia. Now the situation changed to the opposite – a maximum of 20 percent is import, and that is not always the case,” he said.
Mr. Kalinin added that with regard to the trend of import substitution, Russia should move to a new technological level. “In Russia, new materials are produced, and new inventions appear,” he noted.
