Board of the “Silovye Mashiny” enterprise accepted the resignation of Director General, Roman Philippov, detained on suspicion of divulging state secrets.
According to the official press release of the company, Roman Philippov leaves the company upon mutual agreement of the parties. Technical Director, Yury Petrenya, is appointed Director General of the company.
Last week, Mr Philippov was detained in Saint-Petersburg on suspicion of the attempt of divulging a state secret. Later the local media reported that the top-manager was released under the written pledge not to leave country.
Mr Philippov headed the enterprise since April, 2015. His dismissal was preceded by a scandal when “Siemens Gas turbines tecnologies”, the joint venture of Siemens and “Silovye Mashiny” supplied turbines for a project in Taman. In unclear circumstances at least two of the four turbines, in breach of sanctions, were delivered to Crimea, which made the German party angry.
