Russia is ready to participate in new projects for the erection of nuclear power plants in Turkey in the event this country is considering corresponding plans to build an additional volume of nuclear generation.
This statement was made by the Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak on Friday. “In case they set such tasks, then, of course, we will participate in this”, the Minister told reporters.
As a reference, just three days ago, Akkuyu Nukleer, a subsidiary of the Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom, has launched concrete pouring at a construction site of the 1st power unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey. The governments of the two countries have reached an agreement on the creation of this power generating facility in Turkey eight years ago.
