The Finnish authorities have granted a permission for laying and operating a gas pipeline Nord Stream 2 on the territory of this country.

According to the project’s operator, laying this part of the gas pipeline, which will pass through the exclusive economic zone of Finland, is fully agreed upon. The Regional Office of Southern Finland issued an appropriate permission for the project’s implementation in the EEZ, based on the law on water.

The Finnish section of the Nord Stream 2 amounts to 374 kilometers and will be located in a 20-meter corridor near the first project — Nord Stream.

It is worth noting that Germany was the first country to agree on the construction of the Nord Stream 2. Now the operator needs permission from two other Scandinavian countries and Russia itself.
