In March, sales in the US secondary housing market have increased by 1.1% compared with the previous month and amounts now to 5.6 million homes in terms of annual rates, according to a report by the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
In February, sales amounted to 5,54 million homes. Experts on average predicted an increase last month by 0.2% from the February level — up to 5,55 million.
The number of houses for sale at the end of last month was 1,67 million houses, which is 7.2% less than a year earlier. This result is minimal for March since 1999, that is for the whole period of monthly data collection.
