By the end of 2018, most of the work on the construction of a new international airport in Beijing will be completed, Interfax news agency reports on Friday, citing the city authorities.
At present, the airport’s terminal has already been built, and workers are carrying out interior decoration of the premises and installing the equipment.
The new airport has 4 runways and more than 260 parking spaces. Due to the innovative design of the terminal, which covers an area of 700,000 square meters, the distance between the place of check-in and the gate will be reduced. In addition, it will save time for baggage clearance.
The facility is located 46 kilometers south of the center of Beijing. After the airport is put into operation, it is expected that the load on another international airport of Shoudu in the suburbs of Beijing will be significantly reduced.
