President Donald Trump of the United States, who is currently on an official visit to Brussels, made a statement regarding Germany, describing it as being dependent on Russia.
The U.S. leader also called on NATO to pay special attention to a project of building a gas pipeline from Russia to Germany known as Nord Stream 2. In particular, Donald Trump said that he was very sad that the Russian side would supply gas to Germany for “billions and billions” of dollars. In this regard, he described Germany as a “captive to Russia because it’s getting so much of its energy from Russia”.
The US President explained that when having got rid of coal plants and switching to energy supplies from Russia, Germany has become vulnerable, which, he said, was unacceptable.
