Switzerland has been heading the list of the most innovative countries for the eighth consecutive year. GII, a global innovation study, has been conducted taking into account about 80 indicators, from ecology to scientific activities in the country.
The study was carried out by WIPO, Cornell University, and the French business school INSEAD. It is a quality tool that helps to understand how to stimulate innovation with a view to developing the economy and society. The dominant position of Switzerland in the list is fueled by a constant increase in spending on research and development, as well as by a favorable political and regulatory environment.
The Netherlands ranks second. The country is notable for its inventiveness in doing business, especially with regard to online technology. The Top Five countries also include Singapore and the United States.
