According to a report by the Defense Department, the construction of a new building for the Strategic Command of the US Armed Forces (STRATCOM) has faced a number of obstacles.
These difficulties include exceeding the estimated costs and design problems, Military Times reports. Even such factors as mold have played a role in delaying the input of the new headquarters for more than two years.
The cost of the project for building a new headquarters of the Strategic Command of the US Armed Forces at the base of the US Air Force in Nebraska increased from $564 million to $617 million as of February 2018. In addition, the commissioning of the facility was delayed for 29 months, the report says.
