In late August, the Japanese truck maker Hino is going to launch the construction of a factory producing light trucks, the regional governor Andrei Vorobyov told Rambler News on Tuesday.

The facility is planned to be located in the town of Khimki. As Mr. Vorobyov has noted, it will be the second Japanese plant set up in the Moscow region.

“It will not be a large factory, just for 2,000-3,000 vehicles, but it is very important. These are light trucks…” Mr. Vorobyov said.

The governor added that a Mercedes-Benz plant erected in the Moscow region, which is scheduled to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2019, started testing its equipment.

As it was reported earlier, the regional authorities are planning to create 10 automobile clusters, with about 50 hectares of land allocated for this purpose.
