Russia’s first hotel under the brand of Mandarin Oriental is planned to be built on Sofiiskaya embankment, in central Moscow.
The facility that will be located opposite the Kremlin is scheduled to be put in operation in 2021, RBC news agency reported on Wednesday. The hotel, which is to be built by a Russian developer company, will be managed by the international hotel operator Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. The corresponding agreement has already been signed by the two companies.
The design of the hotel that will have 65 rooms will be implemented by Pierre-Yves Rochon studio. In addition to the hotel, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will take over the management of more than a hundred residences, which will also be built on Sofiiskaya embankment. According to the developer, 30 billion rubles will be invested in the project. The total area of the built-up plot of land will exceed three hectares.
