This Saturday in Moscow, the last platform of the biggest MKAD junction in the city, going from Moscow to St. Petersburg, is to be put in operation.
As reported to Construction.ru by the press service of "Avtodor" today, the platform was under accelerated construction and was handed over after only 4 months. It is 1.3 km long with a maximum height of 35 meters. As part of the ambitious five-level Businovskaya interchange, allowing cars to enter the main section of the Moscow – St. Petersburg route, the builders have done a great job on it.
1.5 thousand people were involved daily in the construction works. Since 2011, 7 overpasses and 12 turnoffs with a length of more than 6 km have been built, and sections of the main highway, up to 8 lanes wide, have also been constructed. In addition, workers have carried out a reconstruction of the existing overpass of the MKAD through the Oktyabrskaya Railway (OR).
The launch of a new junction will ease the load on the highway M-10 "Russia", will improve transport links in Moscow and the Moscow area, and will also connect the MKAD with the capital’s northern areas.
