By the trans-border island of Bolshoi Ussuriisky on the Amur, authorities of the People’s Republic of China have decided to build a new modern town.
As the Chinese press reports, the ceremony of signing an agreement between the local authorities and the investment companies that will finance the construction took place in Fuyuan. The total cost of the construction will be 7 bln yuan (about 61.53 bln rubles). The operating name of the new settlement is Duntszisyao chyen.
It means “a small town on the eastern pole” (at the first stage of construction its area will be up to 6 square km). Tourism, trade and business, both Chinese and Russian, are planned to be developed there. To remind the reader, the development concept of the Russian side of Bolshoi Ussuriisky was presented in Beijing in December, 2014 by Yury Trutnev, the plenipotentiary envoy of the President to the Far Eastern Federal District.
From the Russian side a recreation zone for getting acquainted with Russia is planned for construction.
