A large plant producing wide diameter pipes for the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan will be built in Almaty by the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
The corporation’s Chairman of the Board, Van Ylyng, told journalists about this in Astana after his meeting with Kazakhstan’s President, Nursultan Nazarbaev. He said that the construction site will be located in an industrial park in Almaty. The investments total $150m.
The agreement on the construction of the plant producing wide diameter (more than 1400mm) pipes is to be signed during Nazarbaev’s visit to China. CNPC will also help construct a ballet school in Astana, a project initiated by the President of Kazakhstan.
To remind you, Nazarbaev’s state visit to China will last until September 3rd, when he will be present at a solemn parade dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Chinese people’s victory over the Japanese invaders.
