A proposal on the construction cost reduction has been submitted to the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects, at the initiative of the Independent Trade Unions Federation of Russia.
The plan will make it possible to reduce the cost of new buildings’ construction nearly twofold.
As Head of the Independent Trade Unions Federation of Russia, Mikhail Shmakov, told Izvestia newspaper, he submitted a proposal addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is also a Chairman of the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects.
Under the instruction of Vladimir Putin, the proposal for the wide use of construction technologies mentioned by Smakov are already under consideration in the Russian government. The President also gave an assignment to his aide, Andrey Belousov, to explore the issue. After that, the initiative of the trade unions' Head might be brought up for discussion at the Council’s session.
– At present, there are new technologies of housing construction. If these technologies are widely introduced, the construction cost will be lower 1,5 – 2 times, Mikhail Shmakov told Izvestia. He explained that the matter concerned the quick-built method with the use of fixed shutters made of polystyrene foam. Such houses are inexpensive and have better noise and heat insulation.
This technology is already being applied in a number of projects implemented in the Moscow and Kaluga regions.
