Today, on the 5th of October, the head of Rosatom state nuclear energy corporation, Sergey Kiriyenko, was appointed as the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia.




Sergey Kiriyenko will be in charge of domestic politics. The corresponding decree was signed on Wednesday by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The same document releases Mr Kiriyenko from his position as director general of Rosatom, which he has occupied for more than 10 years. According to experts, over this period of time, Sergey Kiriyenko has turned Rosatom into efficient, perfectly managed and highly profitable enterprise.

From the 23rd of March to 23rd of August 1998, Sergey Kiriyenko served as the Prime Minister of Russia under President Boris Yeltsin.
